A24 is seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker to help lead Research & Strategy across our theatrical slate. This role sits at the intersection of market research, strategic planning, and campaign performance—translating data and audience insight into clear, actionable strategies that shape creative positioning, guide media planning, and drive campaign effectiveness from early development through release.

This role can be based out of either our New York or West Hollywood office with a minimum requirement of 3-days a week in office. 

Responsibilities

  • Market Research: Own early-stage research including positioning studies, audience segmentation, creative testing, research screenings, and comp tracking - to shape the strategic foundation of each film. 
    • Partner with Releasing teams to scale learnings across departments, aligning on core strengths, potential barriers, and high-value audiences.
  • Strategic Planning: Translate research findings into actionable, campaign-ready strategies—developing positioning frameworks, defining audience priorities, and mapping creative and media opportunities
    • Partner with the Media and Creative teams to establish the campaign’s architecture: audience segmentation, paid channel mix, creative rotation and pacing, and media timelines.
  • Campaign Performance Tracking & Optimization: Define quantifiable goals and establish checkpoints for evaluating campaign efficacy (awareness, engagement, positioning lift, conversion, etc).
    • Track performance in real time surfacing insights and optimization opportunities throughout the campaign.
    • Lead post-campaign analysis, distilling learnings into strategic frameworks to inform future planning.
  • Drive the development of A24's internal marketing system with an eye towards research integration, scalability, and technological innovation including but not limited to:Campaign planning models and data centralization toolsReal-time tracking dashboards (awareness, sentiment, social signals)Attribution and lift modeling

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in consumer research, strategy, or insights, ideally within film, entertainment, or adjacent industries.
  • Strong analytical skills across both quant and qual methods, with a track record of data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to deliver clear, compelling insights with nuance—grounded in audience psychology and indie film sensibility.
  • Skilled communicator with polished presentation abilities and experience tailoring insights to creative and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, culturally fluent, and comfortable working cross-functionally and internationally.

Our target salary range for this role is between $140,000 to $160,000. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels. Actual starting salary within the range will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, and training. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, including both cash and equity components, competitive healthcare, as well as other employee benefits.
