A24 is looking to hire a Production Accountant to support our TV and Docs divisions. As a key member of our TV and Documentary production teams, along with our Corporate Accounting team, this role will be involved in all aspects of production finance from development through post production.  This role will work closely with the Production, Post, and Creative teams, as well as the Corporate Finance and Accounting teams to ensure A24 production accounting procedures are met, accountants are onboarded properly onto A24 systems, and productions are adhering to accounting guidelines throughout the duration of production. 

This role can be based in either our NY or LA office. 

Initial Responsibilities

• Managing projects’ accounting staffing during development, prep, production and post production
• Responsible for ensuring set up of bank account, payroll, pcard, and accounting systems on each project
• Handling accounting responsibilities such as accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, etc. for full lifecycle of projects (early prep, development, writers room, post production, and delivery)
• Providing guidance and oversight to on-set accountants during production, as it relates to onboarding, introducing processes, and sharing accounting manuals and templates
• Overseeing the accounting wrap and delivery process 
• Liaising with A24 production partners’ or networks’ production finance & accounting teams 
• Managing various audits including tax credits, insurance claims, union audits, and partner specific audits
• Working closely with multiple internal and external teams to be liaison for all things production accounting for TV and Docs departments

Ideal Candidate

• 2 to 3 years of previous experience with production accounting
• Experience working in-house for a studio or production company in a production finance / accounting role
• Experience working with production accounting softwares and Movie Magic Budgeting
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field preferred
• Motivated self-starter skilled in multitasking, time management, and strong organizational skills
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
• Humble, diligent and resourceful

Our target salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $85,000. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels. Actual starting salary within the range will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, and training. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, including both cash and equity components, competitive healthcare, as well as other employee benefits.
