A24 is seeking a Music Supervisor to provide music support for the A24 slate by establishing relationships and guiding the music creative, scoring, and budgeting process from development to launch of feature productions and marketing campaigns. The Music Supervisor will optimize the impact of music across the organization by leveraging project management best practices and streamlined efficiencies. This position is based out of either our NY or West Hollywood office.
Responsibilities:
- Read development scripts and create appropriate music budgets
- Collaborate with Producers, Studio Creatives, Physical Production, and Post-Production Executives to oversee and execute music objectives for the project
- Collect and curate Composer reels to present to internal teams and filmmakers
- Collaborate with Music Business & Legal Affairs on music hires and licensing documentation
- Manage on-camera performances in collaboration with music production team including clearances, pre-records, on-set production, and post-production requirements
- Work with Post, Music Editor, and Composer to develop a music schedule that coincides with post milestones
- Give creative notes on score to the Composer and help manage the score note process between Filmmakers, Creative Executive(s), and Composer
- Collaborate with Music Production (when applicable) on scheduling and supervising scoring sessions to ensure they are running on time and on budget
- Advise any 3rd party Music Supervisor as they are in the process of song selection as it relates to creative studio approvals and budget
- Steer the curation of licensing cues for soundtrack legally and fiscally
- Review cue sheets and manage music clearances for A24 theatrical, TV and digital marketing campaigns from initial testing stages through the finishing phase while negotiating favorable licensing terms and fees
Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years either as a Music Supervisor or in-house Music Executive at a studio
- Experience with contract negotiations required
- Experience with executives, talent, and representatives
- Experience in budgeting including accurately estimating, creating, and revising
- Knowledge of AFM and SAG regulations and rates
- Ability to serve as liaison with internal departments including Marketing and Business Affairs
- Able to work simultaneously on multiple projects with creative, budgetary, and legal considerations
- Diverse musical knowledge with an appetite to stay engaged and informed on all media trends
- Ability to develop creative strategic initiatives for music in-house and 3rd party partners to add value for music campaigns

Our target salary range for this role is between $135k to $160k. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels. Actual starting salary within the range will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, and training.
